Nick Newell is no ordinary mixed martial arts fighter.
It is clear that you need to have enormous self-belief to get into a ring or an octagon, but Newell's achievements were even more staggering than anyone else who normally steps up to fight.
Newell became an MMA champion in the Xtreme Fighting Championships back... but what makes it more remarkable is that he only has one arm.

And even Newell himself could not believe that one of his dreams of being a world champion had become a reality, as he wildly celebrated before being mobbed by his team.
Such is the ability of Massachusetts-based lightweight Newell, he has only lost once in his professional MMA career. Eight of his 11 wins have come via submission.
