Instead Of Throwing Away That Old, Gross Cooler...Try Doing THIS

Some of the best DIY projects are those that take something old and make it like new...or in this case, take something old and make it look new, by making it look old.
There's not much you can do with an ugly, old cooler, right? Wrong. If you've got one lying around, you'll want to check out what Brooke of Killer B Design did with hers...

Here's the cooler she started with.

She began by building a wooden frame.

The frame had a fairly simple construction: all it had to do was be sturdy enough to hold the cooler and its contents.

Once the frame was finished, she began attaching old timber, which would give the cooler a rustic look.

The old barn wood gave the cooler a worn, rustic look.

She installed a tap that attached to the cooler's plastic spout so that it could be drained easily.

Here's the nifty brass drainage tap.

For proper insulation, she fit the plastic lid inside a wooden top and attached hinges.

What a difference!

Who knew coolers could be so....cool?

This is a pretty neat looking cooler. Apparently, if you put enough creativity into anything, you can make even the most mundane thing look awesome.
